Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is a simple, advanced method used to measure blood pressure throughout the day and night while you continue your routine activities. Instead of relying on a single reading at the clinic, ABPM provides a complete 24-hour picture of how your blood pressure behaves, helping identify hidden patterns that regular checks may miss. Under the care of Dr. Vaibhav Shukla, this test is performed with precision to support accurate diagnosis and better heart management.
ABPM is recommended for people who experience:
Fluctuating blood pressure readings
High readings only in clinics (white-coat hypertension)
Normal readings in clinics but high readings at home (masked hypertension)
Symptoms like headaches, dizziness, or fatigue
Difficulty controlling blood pressure despite medication
This test helps understand true blood pressure behavior over a full day.
A small, lightweight BP device is strapped to your arm and connected to a portable monitor worn on your waist or shoulder. It automatically measures your blood pressure every 15–30 minutes during the day and every 30–60 minutes at night. You are advised to continue your regular activities so the readings reflect real-life conditions. After 24 hours, the device is removed, and the recorded data is analyzed in detail by Dr. Vaibhav Shukla to detect patterns and plan the right treatment.
With extensive experience in cardiac evaluation, Dr. Vaibhav Shukla ensures accurate interpretation of ABPM results. His expertise helps differentiate between temporary spikes and true hypertension, allowing for a more personalized and effective treatment approach.
